About Morrison & Conifer

Morrison and Conifer form a corridor of foothills communities along Highway 285 and Highway 74 west of Denver. Morrison (population ~420) is best known as the home of Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Conifer sits higher at 8,200 feet, offering genuine mountain living with a manageable commute. Together, they provide a spectrum of mountain-adjacent lifestyles from the metro's nearest canyon town to true high-country living.

Schools

Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco)

Morrison is served by Red Rocks Elementary, a well-regarded small school in a spectacular natural setting. Conifer students attend West Jefferson Middle School and Conifer High School. Mountain schools offer low student-teacher ratios with strong community involvement.

Lifestyle & Recreation

Red Rocks Amphitheatre — consistently ranked among the world's best concert venues — is the area's iconic draw. Bear Creek Canyon, Matthews/Winters Open Space, and the Red Rocks Trail System provide year-round hiking and mountain biking. Conifer offers a quieter mountain lifestyle with local shops along US-285. Staunton State Park provides additional backcountry recreation.

Who Lives Here

Outdoor enthusiasts, remote workers, musicians and creatives drawn to Red Rocks, and families who want their children to grow up in the mountains. Morrison appeals to those wanting the shortest foothills commute; Conifer draws buyers seeking more acreage and elevation.

What Makes It Unique

This corridor puts you closer to world-class natural venues — Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Bear Creek Canyon, and thousands of acres of Jefferson County Open Space — than any other community within a 30-minute drive of Denver.
